Issue EEPROM Corrupted 
Summary The purpose of this document is to describe how to reset to factory defaults in the RLG range of products. 
Solution To successfully reset the gyro to factory defaults the following procedure should be followed.
  1. If you have a deck lead go to step 3
  2. Using the table A.1 wire up a cable with the following wires connected.

    1. +24V on pin 9
    2. Power ground on pin 4
    3. Data ground on pin 8
    4. Data from gyro pin 5
    5. Data to gyro pin 7

  3. Connect the gyro to a PC running a terminal program like Terra Term or Datamate.
  4. Power up the gyro
  5. Wait for data to be displayed on the terminal
  6. Press ‘esc’ to enter the menu
  7. If you know what your current settings are go to step 8
  8. If you have MiniRLG2 firmware version 3.12 or later or MiniPOS2 firmware version 4.11 or later you can select “Configuration Dump” an example of which is in appendix B then goto step 13
  9. Goto port 1 configuration and note down the configuration of port1
  10. Hit ‘esc’ to start again goto port2 configuration and note down all the settings.
  11. Hit ‘esc’ and select “Config Aux 1” note which one is selected and the data format selected.
  12. Hit ‘esc’ and select “Config Aux 2” and note which one is selected and the data format.
  13. Select “Reset factory defaults”
  14. When prompted select ‘y’ to confirm
  15. Press ‘x’ to save the settings in the EEPROM
  16. Power cycle the unit.
  17. Enter the menu again via ‘esc’
  18. Enter your current latitude
  19. Enter your current Longitude(only on POS units)
  20. Press ‘x’ to save settings
  21. Power cycle the unit again
  22. This time the unit should start aligning at your current location
  23. Go back into the menu using ‘esc’
  24. Re-enter all the settings that you have noted down remembering to hit ‘x’ to save changes when you have finished making changes.
