Surface Fibre Optic Gyro - TOGS-S

Surface Fibre Optic Gyro - TOGS-S
More Pictures   Brochures

The CDL TOGS (Tiny Optical Gyro System) is a low cost FOG (Fibre Optic Gyro) based North seeking compass for use on vessels and remotely operated vehicles (ROVs).

The extremely small size of the TOGS unit allows the system to be used in many underwater applications where space is at a premium.

TOGS achieves 1% of full heading accuracy in less than 3 minutes and rapidly settles on its full heading accuracy of 0.5 deg secant (latitude).

The system is extremely flexible; it can operate in conjunction with GPS to provide a robust positioning solution for surface vessels. It also provides pitch, roll and heave outputs to accurately track all aspects of vessel or ROV motion.

Housing options include lightweight surface, 3,000m subsea to 7,000m titanium. The 3000m version weighs only 8kg.

Features:

Low Cost

Very small in size

Very lightweight

Optical Technology

- no moving parts
