Launch of Digital MicroVision

CDL

CDL are proud to announce the launch of their 'next generation' surface video transmission system.

DMV (Digital MicroVision) uses the latest CODFM digital coding techniques to achieve many advantages over traditional video transmission methods.

A greatly enhanced picture is produced at the receive end. Ghosting effects, often seen on analogue systems are eliminated and the system gives longer range while using less power.

Up to 8 systems can be used in the same area and both PAL and NTSC are supported. A range of antenna options are available. The system comprises Tx & Rx heads, a Transmitter control box and Receiver control box with intgrated 5.6'' display. All housings are ruggedised machined aluminium.

Relocation and IPoz

CDL

Further to our announcement in late 2007 that IPoz in Houston would become the new CDL agent for the Americas. Things are now in full swing in the US with ongoing interest in the CDL product line and other services offered by IPoz which include WinINS, the new aided inertial subsea navigation software package as well as pipeline pigging applications and land seismic products.

CDL's CEO, Colin Crichton has relocated to Houston in order to effectively introduce the CDL product range and assist in what will hopefully be the rapid growth of IPoz. Colin will be making frequent trips back to the UK over the next few months and can be contacted on his normal email address (cc@cdltd.net).

Earlier this month IPoz hosted a barbeque at its offices in Katy, Texas, to introduce the CDL product line in the US. A functional demo for a large range of CDL equipment was shown, the demo included the new WinINS inertial navigation software package, the new DMV Digital MicroVision system and the DATUM acoustic ranging modem.

The BBQ was well attended and a wide variety of clients were introduced to the CDL product range.

Oceanology International 2008

CDL

CDL recently exhibited at the Oceanology International 2008 show at the Excel centre in London Docklands. The CDL stand was used to display a wide variety of current and new CDL products to a constant stream of visitors. Significant enquiries were taken which we hope to expand upon in future newsletters. We also displayed 3D animations of CDL product applications and some interesting new developments for the future.

Dinner at Oceanology

CDL

During the week at Oi08, CDL hosted a dinner for clients at the ultra modern Novotel Deck Bar & Restaurant conveniently placed beside the ExCel centre. The food was excellent and a large collection of our current and future clients attended for what was a highly enjoyable (and late!) evening.

We might just have to make this a regular event at Oceanology...

KTP Scheme

CDL

CDL have recently begun their second scheme under the Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP). KTP is a government supported employment scheme which allows technology companies to take advantage of the excellent academic resources that are available in the UK.

The new scheme involves an advanced subsea laser scanning system which will be added to the CDL product range.

Applications were received late in 2007 and the successful candidate chosen was John Taney who is a graduate of Aberdeen University.

Launch of New Web Site

CDL

We are pleased to announce that the CDL website has been completely rewritten and launched with many new facilities.

The new site has been written using the latest PHP coding to further reflect the position of CDL as a technology leader in the UK. Multiple Flash animations give the site an exciting ‘up to the minute’ feel and a new ‘Downloads’ section gives our clients rapid access to all kinds of CDL printed material including manuals, brochures, newsletters and 3D animations.
